The authors note that demand for kidney transplants in the U.S. far exceeds the supply of available organs, and urge that the U.S. make it legal for people to sell their kidneys. In their view a kidney market would greatly increase supply and reduce the number of people who die awaiting donor kidneys. Their discussion includes consideration of ethical issues involved. |
