Abstrakt: | Discusses Ebinger's, a family bakery that opened in Brooklyn in 1898 and became a string of 54. The unstinting quality and consistency of the 200 German-style pastries made them shrines. Ebinger's went bankrupt in 1972 but is now making a comeback under a new owner. The pale green boxes with brown crosshatching are back on supermarket shelves. |
