Abstrakt: ANY race with Kenenisa Bekele on the bill can withstand the loss of one runner but Fionnuala Britton's withdrawal from Sunday's SPAR Great Ireland Run was a wounding blow for organisers yesterday. The winner of three European cross-country titles in two years is low on gas after another prolific winter in which she also picked up a European indoor bronze. And Britton (right) will now spend five weeks altitude training before focusing her energies on the 5,000, culminating in the World Championships in Moscow next September. An elite men's mile has been added to the Phoenix Park event, with reborn 1,500m runner Colin Costello taking on the likes of Paul Robinson, Eoin Everard and Darren McBrearty.
