IWAS recently giving a talk at the Irish Property Council when developer Niall Mellon arrived and was asked to speak about his meteoric rise and fall. He was magnanimous, stating that he wanted to do the right thing in trying to come through this mess. But he also said: 'There is a certain brand of luxury home that doesn't deserve protection from the banks,' and that really struck me, as this week we learned that it will be 2012 before we see any prosecutions for financial wrongdoing in our banks.
