The article discusses the sale of jewelry during an economic downturn. Tim Powden, owner of McWayne's Jewelers, and Elias Hajj, owner of Hannoush Jewelers, both agree that the amount spent on purchasing jewelry is down but the number of customers is not. The National Retail Federation predicts an increase in jewelry sales during Valentine's Day holiday. It has been said that men are considering alternative metals such as tungsten, titanium or palladium over yellow gold, and white gold or platinum. |
