A 33-year-old parolee was charged on Wednesday in the fatal shooting of a liquor store clerk who died trying to defend his girlfriend during a robbery attempt last week, the police said. The killing of the clerk, Yoseph Robinson, reverberated across Brooklyn, in part because of Mr. Robinson's self-described conversion from a life of street crime to one as a devoted Hasidic Jew.
