The article reports on the 180 million dollars worth of buyout deal between chipmakers Sierra Monolithics Inc. and Semtech Corp. in Irvine, California. According to Javed Patel, Sierra's chief executive officer (CEO), the deal is expected to end by the end of 2009 and that its Irvine office housing a design center and around 70 workers is set to stay intact. Meanwhile, Emeka Chukwu, chief financial officer (CFO) of Semtech, claims that Sierra's acquired business would not be extensive. |
