Abstrakt: The article reports on the goal of the South Korean government to reduce its carbon emissions by 2020. Under the Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations, wherein countries are trying to address climate change, the country is not yet required to set an emissions reduction target. According to President Lee Myung-bak, manufacturers will be aided by the target to avoid carbon-related tariffs. It cites the plan of the government to cut carbon emissions in the construction and transportation sectors by 31% and 33%, respectively.
