Abstrakt: THE Disney-Pixar film-makers were cock-a-hoop, waltzing up the red carpet as their movie Up opened the Cannes Film Festival. It's an animated picture about a widower who sets off on a wild adventure to South America, his house tethered to 22,000 helium-filled balloons. However, Up's director Pete Docter told me that some technical chaps at Pixar worked out that in reality it would take 30 million balloons to lift a house up, up and away. Who knew?
