The article reports on the changes enacted by the federal government to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) in Connecticut. The FMLA was enacted in 1993 that gives employees the right to take up to three months off from work on an unpaid basis for several reasons including caring for a newborn child. The Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. shared that the government clarified that companies can dock their workers bonuses that would be awarded covering the time that workers takes leaves under FMLA. |
