The article discusses the continuing strength of the U.S. dollar. On August 16, 2008 the dollar had gained about 8% and 6%, respectively, against the euro and the Japanese yen during the preceding 30-day period. Some view these developments as more a sign of economic weakness abroad than of a strong U.S. economy. |
