The article reports on the new initiative of the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) to reduce the solid waste in Albany, New York. As part of OGS's commitment to sustainable state operations, the agency will be placing 10 BigBelly solar-powered compaction devices in the parks and plazas of Albany. The new device is a combination of trash receptacle and compactor that reduces solid waste through the use of energy generated by a photovoltaic strip. |
