The article reports on the factors contributing to the sales performance of cell phone manufacturers. According to data from Stamford, consumer demand for cell phones was stronger than expected in 2007. Worldwide sales of cell phones totaled more than 1.2 billion handsets, up 16% from 2006. Higher-end phones with various features boosted demand in the U.S., Japan, and Western Europe. |
