The article reports on the economic recession in Arizona in 2007. According to economist Marshall Vest of the University of Arizona, the recession, which started in the third quarter of 2007, was due to the decline of the mortgage lending industry, the collapse of gross domestic product (GDP) growth, expensive housing market and inflation of oil prices. Furthermore, Vest forecasted that there will be problems on tax revenue that would affect the economy of the state. |
