The article provides information on the consolidation of Gateway Inc., a computer hardware company based in Irvine, California with Acer Inc., an electronic manufacturer in Taiwan. Ed Coleman, chief executive of Gateway Inc., states that due to the changes, the current mood in the company is emotional. Furthermore, he said that the merger brings advantage to Acer, because Acer will have Gateway's widely recognized brand name, that will enable them to keep up with the consumer market in the U.S. |
