The article presents an overview of the yield curve, which is a financial variable that is the difference between short term and long term interest on U.S. Treasury notes. A discussion of he impact the yield curve has on financial companies and especially banks, is presented. The 2007 performance of the yield curve and the impact it has had on banks worldwide, including Wachovia and Citibank, is discussed. |
