The article focuses on the efforts of physicans including Stephen Bardot, Lionel Bourgeois and Jay Brooks in helping victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bardot lead the implementation of the da Vinci Surgical System in Ochsner Health System in 2005. Bourgeois of West Jefferson Medical Center has chosen to weather the ongoing health care crisis facing the region. Brooks had treated oncology and hematology patients when they evacuated to Baton Rouge after the storm. |
