The article focuses on the opposition made by pension negotiators against removing a package of tax extenders from the pension conference report. It was indicated by U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner that negotiators had not settled whether extenders would be part of the final pension package. It is reported that the case to retain the extenders as part of the pension package instead of following GOP leaders' plans to move the extenders along with a permanent reduction in the estate tax is being made by Senate Finance Chairman Charles Grassley and ranking member Max Baucus. |
