This article presents an interview with Susquehanna Patriot Bank CEO Michael M. Quick. When asked about his opinion on the addition of jobs in New Jersey which are mostly lower-paying, he answers that the banking industry is offering higher salaries and benefits for the applicants. He cites that the moderate decline in profitability of the banking industry in 2005 was due to a flat yield curve between short-term and long-term rates which affected the banks' profit margins. He also believes that New Jersey is a good place to put up a business because of its demographics. |
