In the past six months, the city witnessed the launch of no fewer than 10 mega-restaurants, headed by esteemed culinary talents like Geoffrey Zakarian and Nobu Matsuhisa. Despite the expected risk concerning rents and economic downturn, restaurateurs are taking advantage of an incredible dining boom. Last year set records for some owners but this year there are no signs of a slowdown. The National Restaurant Association reported an increase in same-store sales in January for the 30th straight.
