Abstrakt:	The article profiles Joanne Stoner, the former director of e-commerce at Lucent Technologies Inc., and the founder and chief executive of eDressMe, a six-year-old online store that sells designer dresses. Stoner sought startup loan from several banks and was rejected. The banks just kept saying no for several reasons, including the fact that was going to use the money for a dotcom, says Stoner. She invested $200,000 of her own savings and conserved cash by launching the business out of her 600-square-foot midtown studio apartment in New York City.
