The article focuses on the collaboration of businessmen with a real estate developer for a work force housing development project in Waikoloa, Hawaii. The project encountered several problems such as high infrastructure costs and keeping the housing affordable. According to lawyer Joe Blanco, the price- and profit-controlled leasehold system is designed to give buyers the opportunity to own a home and save money. The housing paradigm could also be a catalyst for the improvement of the construction industry. |
