Abstrakt: This article reports on signs that the U.S. bond market is struggling, despite the fact that the U.S. economy is enjoying its most stable stretch of expansion ever. The Federal Reserve has driven short-term borrowing rates up faster than long-term interest rates have risen. The yield curve rose in the immediate wake of Hurricane Katrina, but has since flattened.
