The article reports on the election of Korean American and New Jersey Democrat Andy Kim to the U.S. Senate that was hailed by Korean Americans, particularly in Palisades Park, New Jersey which is considered as the epicenter of Korean culture. A background is provided on the political career of Kim including as Congressman and foreign policy adviser in Washington. Focus is also given on the intent of Kim to combat misconceptions that had contributed to the rise of hate crimes against Asians. |
