The article reports on the rare and near-extinct Przewalski's horse, named Shrek, that was rescued from equine slaughter in Aurora, Colorado. It informs about the breeding initiative led by the Prague Zoo in Czech Republic as part of a global mission to reintroduce the species, as well as the discovery of another Przewalski's horse, named Fiona, at a livestock auction in Utah. It traces origins of Shrek and Fiona to the international Przewalski's breeding program and conservation efforts. |
