The state of New Hampshire has partnered with Ohio-based company Revive Environmental to remove and destroy carcinogenic firefighting foam containing PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) from fire departments and airports. The initiative, called the AFFF Take Back Program, aims to remove over 100,000 gallons of unused PFAS-contaminated foam. Revive specializes in eliminating PFAS using a process called supercritical water oxidation, which converts the substances into clean water. The program is available to all fire departments, local governments, and government-owned airports in the state. [Extracted from the article] |
