The article shows that China is catching up in artificial intelligence (AI) development despite a head start by the U.S. Focus is given on the open source technology efforts of Chinese companies and its implications as AI technology continues to develop. It reports the struggle of Chinese technology companies to compete with U.S. firms like OpenAI and Google, as well as the constraint of government censorship facing Chinese technology companies which extends to AI technologies. |
