The article reveals lapses in the security network of Russia following the shooting at the Crocus City Hall outside Moscow which the Islamic State-Khorasan Province claimed responsibility for. It attributes the security lapses to distrust within the Russian security establishment and its relation with global intelligence agencies, the way Russian President Vladimir V. Putin hijacked the Federal Security Service for a political crackdown, and neglect of a U.S. warning of an extremist attack. |
