The article reports on the growing population of Venezuelan immigrants in Queens, New York. Focus is given on the commercial corridor along Roosevelt Avenue where Venezuelans and other Spanish-speaking groups come together for food, culture and identity. It informs the median income of Venezuelan households compared with other Hispanic households, as well as the influx of Venezuelan businesses in Queens including cafes and restaurants as a way to establish an ethnic neighborhood. |
