He works toward increasing social justice for people with disabilities through media activities, committee appointments, board memberships and academic efforts. He serves on the Progress Center for Independent Living's board, its executive committee, the race and diversity committee, the fundraising committee, the development committee and as secretary of the board. Under Rabbat's leadership, the Society of Cardiovascular CT, which represents cardiologists, radiologists, researchers, scientists, technologists and nurses, has engaged Congress and secured report language in a House Appropriations Committee bill addressing inadequate access to cardiac CT services. The health care innovators profiled here helped Chicago cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and, in some cases, are still doing so, in addition to providing mental, physical and dental health services to an array of demographics.
