Abstrakt: Falling flat Your opinions about the work of the DeWine administration and state government generally might vary, but on one issue there's not much room for debate: Ohio is in an era of remarkable budget stability and responsibility. That lower income tax rate for all taxpayers would be accompanied by increases in residential and agricultural property taxes, as the bill pays for the income tax cut by eliminating a program in which the state government pays 10% of property taxes for residential and agricultural properties. The Statehouse News Bureau points out that the Legislative Service Commission, which does research for state lawmakers, "estimates House Bill 1 is a $1.7 billion income tax cut.".
