U.S. President Donald Trump knew the coronavirus was "deadly" and worse than the flu even as he intentionally misled the U.S. public in February and March about the risks, according to a forthcoming book by American journalist, Bob Woodward. Trump said in a recorded conversation with Woodward, he has downplayed the risks of the coronavirus all along because he did not want to cause panic, according to a report in "The Washington Post." DOJ will defend President Trump in defamation lawsuit by E. Jean Carroll who accused him of sexual assault. Attorney General Bill Barr said he considered the move routine because Trump was acting "within the scope of his office" when the suit was brought. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will address revelations on Bob Woodward's book about Trump. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
