The article discusses the Irvine CubeSat STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Program, a team of about 150 students from the Irvine and Tustin, California, unified school districts sending a second satellite, IRVINE02, guided by eight teachers coordinated with NASA (National Aeronautics & Space Administration) launching in November 2018. It states it aims to build a technical workforce in STEM including unrepresented groups and it is designed to teach optical communications. |
