Abstrakt: ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Rosneft's board of directors has elected former German Chancellor and head of Nord Stream AG shareholders committee Gerhard Schroeder as its chairman, Schroeder said himself at a press conference following an extraordinary shareholders meeting of the Russian oil company. Rosneft held a shareholders meeting in St. Petersburg on Friday where a new board of directors for the company was elected, with its size increasing from nine to 11 people. In addition to Schroeder, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak also joined the board. The inclusion the former German Chancellor on Rosneft's board will facilitate development of the company's business in Europe and expansion of its presence there, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin said. Rosneft shareholders confirmed interim dividends for H1 2017 at 3.83 rubles per share or a total of 40.6 billion rubles, corresponding to 50% of IFRS profits for January-June. Higher dividend payments will have an impact on Rosneft's investment program, if only a slight one, but will improve its market cap, Sechin said. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
