The article discusses the role played by cardiac rehabilitation programs in maintaining the health of heart patients. According to Kelley Weider, department director of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for Berkshire Medical Center, participants are made to exercise in a gym and are assisted by a nurse to make sure they stay within their limits while exercising. In addition, their blood pressure, heart rate, and heart rhythm are monitored during activity, to see their fitness levels. |
