LONGFORD are the latest county in search of a new boss after Jack Sheedy brought his two-year reign as manager to an end. The Lucan Sarsfields man cited personal reasons as he tendered his resignation to county board officials on Tuesday night. He is the fourth inter-county manager to step aside in recent days, following Tipperary's Peter Creedon, Derry's Brian McIver and Kerry hurling boss Éamonn Kelly. Tomás Ó Flatharta also stepped down as Laois football manager last month. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
