Abstrakt: The article discusses industrial growth and development of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as of June 9, 2003. During the past three years, the city has seen construction of new baseball and football stadiums and also a monumental expansion of Pittsburgh's convention center. While the massive and state-financed projects have won acclaim for modernizing this industrial town, it is the software and biotechnology companies which have contributed in the city's growth. Pittsburgh has worked to progress beyond its industrial past by pursuing dreams of an economy built in part on new and emerging technologies.
