Abstrakt: A magnetic fluid compound flocculant sample was prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then, the electrostatic cluster effect of the flocculant in water was studied, and its flocculation efficiency was tested based on the fractal theory. It was found that electrostatic clusters comprised of spherical particles formed during the flocculation process, and that high dosage of magnetic fluid compound flocculant meant a large dimension and particle size of the flocculant. The particle size of the magnetic flocculation body had a high speed of growth in flocculation phase during the first 6 mm, and then gradually became more and more stable after 10 mm. Through the test simulation, the average growth rate reached a maximum of 83.62 μm/min when G1 was 800.20 s-1, T1=51.45 s, G2=155 s-1, and T2= 24.13 s. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
