The article focuses on Brazilian sea turtle conservation program Projeto Tamar-ICMBio's station located in Florianópolis, the capital of the Brazilian state Santa Catarina. The station was established in April 2005 to reduce the number of incidental captures of sea turtles in coastal and open sea fisheries that are operating in the area. The station's conservation activities include the veterinary treatment of ill turtles and studies on fishery mitigation measures. |
