Abstrakt: Presents a paper which discussed the increasing importance of the environment to social scientists, and socio-ecological impact and risk assessments in the urban environment of Hong Kong. Argument that social sciences have a more significant role to play in understanding and responding to environmental deterioration than has hitherto been the case; The need for harmonizing multidisciplinarity in appreciating impact assessments; A framework for analyzing and containing environmental impacts in Hong Kong.
