Tomato plants sprayed at the four‐leaf stage with ring‐labeled 14C‐acifluorfen were sampled periodically throughout the growing season. Analysis by combustion and scintillation counting revealed the herbicide was not translocated within the plants and that harvest fruit contained no detectable residues. Thin layer chromatography of the plant extracts showed some conjugation with plant constituents but no cleavage of the diphenylether bond. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
