Abstrakt: | The article focuses on the yields of corn fields in Midwest, wherein highest yields are achieved due to good stands, high water tables, and deep crop roots. It says that changing from moldboard plowing and inversion tillage to no-till reduces the runoff, increases infiltration, and raises water table. Furthermore, it mentions the potential benefits of tile drainage including the timely access for planting, increase rooting depth, and increase crop yields. |
