Abstrakt: The article presents a research study on the inclusion of passive and active processes in the wheat root uptake of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Glycerol and mercury inhibit uptake, showing that aquaglyceroporins sensitive to mercury lend to passive active. The results of the study offer insights into wheat roots' PAH uptake mechanism that is associated with strategies to lessen PAH accumulation in wheat for food safety, improving phytoremediation of soils or water contaminated with PAH by agronomic practices.
