Abstrakt: The article presents a study to asses the impact of organic matter (OM) degradation on the distribution of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), arsenic (As) and sewage sludge (SS) and SS-amended soils. It states that the application of SS has caused concern on its potential in releasing trace metals to the environment after the degradation of OM. The study suggests the minute exchangeable fractions of AS and Pb before and after OM degradation indicating that the release to the environment will be unlikely.
