The article presents a study that investigates the nutrient production imbalances using vector analysis in agroforestry systems. It discusses two case studies on cocoa and pigeonpea in Tanzania with the re-examination of data using vector analysis to quantify nutrient and non-nutrient interactions in agroforestry as well as illustrate the application of this analysis for managing agroforestry system with improved diagnosis of on-farm nutrient application needed to minimize soil and water contamination. It indicates that biomass production and nutrition exhibited typical responses through analysis of vector shifts in comparison to a control with recommended management prescriptions based on original vector diagnosis which are deterministic in nature. |
