The article presents a study that explored the impact of sludge retention time (SRT) on ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB) and nitrate oxidizing bacteria (NOB) in an anaerobic/oxic (AO) process. It used simple exponential curve and second hyperbolic curve to describe the relation between the growth rate constant and the SRT. It mentions the AOB and NOB growth rate constant when SRT was 15, 10, and 5 days. It showed that the levels of AOB and NOB biomass decreases when the value of SRT decreases. |
