The article presents a conceptual plan for sustainable water resource management in the Peace Creek watershed and Winter Haven, Florida. The backbone of the plan entails an interconnection of a hydrologic network of lakes, canals, aquifers, parks and open spaces that will restore the historical movement of water in allowing a system of water storage that meets the long-term water resource needs of the entire community including supply, quality, flood protection and the preservation of natural resources. |
