Abstrakt:	The article presents a study on the deleterious effect of sunless tanning treatment with dihydroxyacetone (DHAT) in hairless descendants of Mexican hairless dogs. The study primarily examines the harmful impact on the frequent treatment with DHAT solutions on the wide skin surface of Mexican hairless dogs. Specifically, it investigates the skin reactions to the DHAT-treatment of the dogs after 21 and 42 days of DHAT-treatment. Clinical findings show the development of skin irritant dermatitis, severity of skin lesions, epidermal thickening and epidermal degeneration. Further, the study concludes on the occurrence of contact dermatitis associated with the damaged stratus corneum brought by frequent wide treatment with DHAT.
