The article discusses the amendments brought during a meeting of the Technical Committee on Organic Agriculture held by the Canadian General Standards Board. A proposal to ban nanotechnology products and processes was considered by the committee. Proposals to create exceptions to the list of prohibitions in organic agriculture sparked a debate. Changes in the Permitted Substances List (PSL) include changing a name or adding the substance to a different table. Argon, calcium phosphate and antioxidants are some of the new substances in the list. |
