This section of the book "Visualizing Density," examines why people in the U.S. hate dense cities. It is said that it has been part of the American culture to live in single-family homes and settle in a house with a lot of space away from the neighbors. Many homeowners reportedly find it that living in a dense community is a threat with fears of property devaluation, more crimes and heavy traffic conditions. |
